Charter party performance dispute at Tuticorin Port.
During the voyage to disport, fuel consumption was more than Charter Party consumption vis-à-vis speed. The owners claimed same due to unfavourable weather (currents). Also, there was an element of short receipt of bunkers. Various navigational publications perused for weather during the passage. A detailed study was made of the navigational charts and log books together with passage plan. Under-par charter party performance was attributed to under performance of main engine and not exaggerated weather. Bunker receipts satisfactory. Client interests were protected.
